How to Store Pears

Refrigerate
Whole pears can be kept uncovered in the refrigerator or in a loose Glad® Zipper 2-in-1 Gallon bag.

Prep
To cut pears, core them and cut into wedges of desired size. Dip slices quickly in an equal mixture of lemon juice and water.

Seal
Seal pear slices in a Glad® Zipper Bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible when closing the bag.

Refrigerate
Store in the refrigerator.

How to Freeze Pears

Prepare
Bring 3 cups water and 2 cups sugar to a boil. Stir in 1/2 tsp ascorbic acid (Fruit Fresh) or 2–3 tbsp lemon juice.

Add
Peel, core and slice pears then add to syrup. Boil for 2 mins. Let mixture cool.

Place
Place into FreezerWare™ container after cooling, leaving 1/2-inch headroom.

Freeze
Seal and place in the deepest part of the freezer.
